The journey of the Solstice Shirt

I've been reflecting recently on the evolution of one very special garment: The Solstice Shirt.

It all began with The Thirty Coat - a piece I dreamed up for my mum. It was meant to be a soft, wearable layer to see her through everyday adventures with ease and beauty (see below).

But, as often happens, the vision shifted. The original idea morphed into a wool version of the coat (below modelled by Emma), offering more structure and warmth - lovely, but still not offering everything she was looking for.

Then Mum said, “What I really want is something cardigan-like. Easy to throw on. Something lighter, softer, a little more relaxed.”

And so, The Solstice Shirt was born.

It found its final form just in time for its first release around the Summer Solstice - a piece rooted in adaptability, grace, and the kind of timeless comfort that moves with you. It's a shirt, but also a little like a jacket - it floats somewhere in between, with deep pockets, a generous cut, and a drape that flatters without fuss.

The Solstice Shirt feels just as good layered over linen in high summer as it does over wool when the nights begin to draw in. It’s a piece that holds the spirit of the turning seasons - easy, earthy and enduring.

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of its journey so far. If you’ve worn one, you’ve woven yourself into its story.
