Behind-the-scenes of 2025

It's time to go behind-the-scenes of 2025 here at House of Flint! I've been reviewing the past 12 months, and wanted to share my key takeaways from this year with you…

First up: how many garments have we sold?
Throughout the year we sold 899 items! That's a 22% increase from the previous year, so a pretty good start!

How many designs have been brought to life?
Those 899 garments came from 24 designs - some old, some new - and experimenting with this many designs has given me an incredible insight into what to bring you for 2026, based on what you're loving the most…

So which designs have sold the best?
The Everything Dress - 286 sold!
Our button-down styles - 93 sold!
The Doddle Dress - 89 sold!
The Solstice Shirt - 51 sold!

What was the one big change we made?
Back in May, our amazing production manager, Daisy, decided to leave to pursue her own creative endeavours. On a personal level, I was incredibly sad to see her go, but also excited for her next steps! In light of this news, I made the difficult decision to close the made-to-order side of House of Flint indefinitely.

Thankfully I had already started to shift into more ready-to-ship styles, and continued to collaborate with a trusted UK manufacturer to create small batches of clothing, offering pre-orders to allow for some flexibility in colour, size and length options.

It was the end of an era in so many ways, and marked the next phase of the evolution of House of Flint!

What other changes have we made?
After five years working made-to-order, it has been a huge learning curve, and one I am still adapting to! You may have seen that in the wake of this happening, I became incredibly burnt-out from trying to juggle too many things. I had to take some time off completely just to feel able to face the studio again (and when the studio is in my house, it took a fair amount of effort to avoid it too!). In light of this, I have been trying to achieve more balance... although I do say that every year - fingers crossed 2026 is the year I finally make it happen.

What are things looking like overall?
Revenue is up 40% on last year, but "profit" (i.e. what I'm paying myself and not putting back into the business) is identical to 2024. And the truth? It's not a lot. This year has been a LOT of hard work, so it is a little disheartening to see these figures and feel like not a lot has changed for me financially. But so many small businesses have closed this year, so I still feel enormously grateful to still be here.

And finally…
I want to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you! Without your support, I wouldn't be here building this business that I love. Thank you for being along for the ride!
